**LifeStamp Pty Ltd**
Last updated: 5 October 2026
Please read these terms. They explain what LifeStamp is, what you pay for, what happens to
everything you put into it, and what you can expect from us. We have tried to write them in
plain English rather than the usual thicket, because the people using LifeStamp are
families, not lawyers.
---
1. Who we are, and what this is
LifeStamp is operated by LifeStamp Pty Ltd (ABN 60 670 699 199), an Australian company.
LifeStamp is a private website for keeping a family's stories. You can use it on a
phone, a tablet or a computer through a web browser — there is nothing to install.
With it you can create a chronicle, one person's life, built from prompted questions,
photographs, videos, voice recordings and a family tree. You can keep a chronicle about
yourself, about someone else, or about someone who has died. You can invite other people in
to read it or add to it. You can also create shared folders for events — a weekend away,
a season of sport, a birthday — and invite people to those.
Nothing on LifeStamp is public. There is no public profile, no feed, and nothing is
visible to search engines. A chronicle or folder is seen by the people invited to it and
nobody else.
In these terms, "we" and "us" mean LifeStamp Pty Ltd, and "you" means you.
2. Your account
You need an account to use LifeStamp. When you create one you agree to:
- give a real email address that you control, and keep your password to yourself
- be at least 16 years old, or have a parent or guardian agree to these terms for you
- take responsibility for what happens under your account
Tell us promptly at admin@lifestamp.co if you think someone else has got into your account.
3. What costs money, and what doesn't
Free, always: signing in; being invited into someone else's chronicle or folder; reading
it; and adding your own photographs, videos and memories to it. If somebody else is doing
the keeping, you never pay anything.
Paid: owning a chronicle of your own.
Your first 30 days are free. When you start your first chronicle, you get a month with
everything available and no payment details required. We do not ask for a card to begin, and
nothing is charged automatically at the end of it.
After the free month, keeping your own chronicles costs:
| Plan | Price (including GST) |
|---|---|
| Monthly | A$10.45 per month |
| Yearly | A$104.50 per year |
| Family | A$209.00 per year, covering up to 5 people |
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
One subscription covers every chronicle you own, however many, and everyone you invite
into them is free. On the Family plan, "5 people" means five accounts — five people who each
keep chronicles of their own. People you are remembering never need a place of their own;
their stories are included with whoever keeps them, however many there are.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
4. Renewals and cancelling
A subscription renews automatically — monthly or yearly, as you chose — until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from the billing page inside LifeStamp. Cancelling stops the
next payment; it does not end the period you have already paid for, which runs to its end.
We will tell you before any price change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
5. What happens if you stop paying
This matters more here than in most services, so we want to be exact about it.
Nothing is deleted. If your free month ends, or your subscription lapses, or you cancel:
- every chronicle, photograph, recording and story you have put in stays where it is
- you can still sign in, read everything and show it to your family
- your legacy keepers still inherit it (see section 8)
- what stops is adding: no new chronicles, entries, photographs or recordings until you
subscribe again
Pay again and everything picks up where it left off.
We may remove data from accounts that have been both unpaid and completely unused for a long
period, but we will write to you first, give you a reasonable time to respond, and offer you
a copy of your material before anything is removed.
6. Refunds and your rights under Australian law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian
Consumer Law. If something goes significantly wrong you are entitled to a replacement or a
refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. If the problem is not
major, you are entitled to have it fixed in a reasonable time.
Beyond those rights: if you subscribe and change your mind, write to us at admin@lifestamp.co
within 14 days and we will refund that payment. After that, a subscription runs to the end of
the period you paid for and we do not refund part-periods, except where the law requires it
or where we think it is fair.
7. What you put in, and who owns it
Your material stays yours. Photographs, recordings, writing, family details — you own
them, and nothing in these terms transfers that ownership to us.
You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your material, to
display it to the people you have given access to, and to make copies for backup and
security. Nothing more. In particular:
- we do not sell your material, or anyone's details, to anybody
- we do not use it to advertise to you
- we do not make it public or use it to promote LifeStamp without asking you first
By putting material in, you confirm that you are allowed to — that it is yours, or that you
have permission from whoever it belongs to. Be thoughtful about other people's privacy,
especially where children, medical details or living people who have not been asked are
concerned.
Voice recordings and transcription. You can record spoken answers, and LifeStamp can turn
them into text. That processing happens in Australia (Amazon Web Services, Sydney). The
audio is deleted from the transcription service once the text has been produced.
8. Legacy keepers
You can name two people to look after your chronicles if you can no longer do so.
While you are using LifeStamp normally, they are told only that they have been named. They
cannot see anything you have written. If a day comes when they need to take over, either of
them can ask; you are told immediately and can stop it; and if you cannot, the request is
approved either by us or by your other keeper after seven days.
If a handover is approved, your chronicles pass to that person, and the other keeper gets
full editing access alongside them. An inherited account is free for twelve months from
the day it passes across.
9. Capturing someone else's story, and handing it over
LifeStamp includes tools for interviewing someone and recording their story on their behalf —
used by families, volunteers and community organisations.
If you capture someone else's story this way, you must hand it over to them or their
family when you are finished. That is the point of the feature. After the handover, they
own it: they can edit it, invite whoever they like and decide who sees it, and you keep a
read-only copy as the person who captured it. A story handed to someone this way comes with
twelve months free.
Before recording anybody, make sure they understand what you are doing and agree to it.
10. Using LifeStamp properly
Please don't:
- put in anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to share
- try to get at other people's chronicles, or at parts of the service not meant for you
- interfere with the service, or use it to harass anybody
- resell access, or use LifeStamp to run a service of your own without talking to us first
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where we can, we will tell you
first and explain why.
11. Where your material is kept
Your material is stored in Australia. Chronicles, photographs and recordings are held in
Supabase's Sydney region; transcription runs on Amazon Web Services in Sydney; the site
itself is served by Netlify.
How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of
these terms.
12. Availability, and changes to the service
We work to keep LifeStamp available and your material safe, but no online service is perfect.
We may occasionally need to take it offline for maintenance, and features will change over
time as it improves.
If we ever have to close LifeStamp down, we will give you at least 90 days' notice and a
way to download everything you have put in. We think that is the least a service holding a
family's memories owes the families who trusted it.
13. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes the guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Beyond those, and to the extent the law allows: we provide LifeStamp as it is; we are not
responsible for loss you could have avoided by keeping your own copies of important
photographs and recordings; and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have
paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose.
Please keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable. We back up, we take it seriously,
and you should still have the originals somewhere else.
14. Ending things
You can stop using LifeStamp whenever you like, and close your account from inside it or by
writing to us. Closing an account removes your material; tell us beforehand if you would like
a copy first.
We may close your account if you break these terms seriously, or if we close the service
(section 12).
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you — price, what you get, your rights — we
will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and you can cancel if you do not
agree.
16. The legal bits
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts there deal
with any disputes.
If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
17. Getting in touch
LifeStamp Pty Ltd
If something has gone wrong, please write to us before anything else. Most things are a
misunderstanding or a bug, and we would rather fix it than argue about it.
